Lions are everywhere in the world

Leos and Lions selflessly devote themselves to helping others. With around 1.4 million members worldwide, we have been active for over 100 years and are the world’s largest service organisation. The Finnish Lions League has about 750 sloss clubs with a total of about 16 000 members. There are many different types of clubs, including special clubs with only foreigners or people with the same hobby or cultural background.

Every cent goes to charity

Each Lions club selects its own projects. Many clubs focus on local groups, such as vulnerable young people or people with disabilities. They often choose projects that are aligned with international core themes (focuses): hunger, blindness/eye disease (vision), childhood cancer, sustainable living, diabetes, youth, disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Lions take the initiative, encourage, organise and connect stakeholders. Not only do we organise fundraising events, we roll up our sleeves. All this under our motto: Lions help!

Non-global religious and political organisation

Lions is a worldwide religious and non-political charity that helps people in need. Lions do unpaid volunteer work. All proceeds from the collection, after necessary collection expenses, are used for relief purposes. Lions like to work together – there are many ways to do good.

By raising money, but also by rolling up their sleeves. With over 1.4 million members worldwide, we’ve been active for over 100 years. You get a lot in return: friendship and camaraderie, the opportunity to learn, to grow personally and the chance to give something good to society together.
